What I do

Catherine has been married to Tom for 28 years and has two grown children, Matt and Nicole. She is the proud grandma of Kida who is five and just started kindergarten. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling.

Catherine began working in RSU 23 in October 2010 as a speech therapist at Old Orchard Beach High School, Saco Middle School, and Thorton Academy. During this school year, she was drawn to teaching at the beach. In September of 2011, Catherine fulfilled her dream of becoming a special education teacher in Room 106. Since then, her days have been filled with teaching life skills, academics and learning strategies to high school students.

Catherine grew up in Windsor, Vermont. She vacationed in Maine all her life. After graduation, Catherine attended the University of Maine at Farmington and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Correction in 1990. She worked in MSAD 60 (North Berwick, Berwick, and Lebanon) for eleven years as a speech therapist. In 2001, she transitioned to Co-Director of Special Education. Catherine attended University of Southern Maine and earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2005. In 2007, Catherine left education to serve as the Vice President of Educational Integration with MSB Services LLC, an educational software company. She returned to education with RSU 23 in 2010.
