Lindsay Artes

What I do

Lindsay grew up in Portland but currently lives in Windham with her husband. Like any other English teacher, Lindsay loves reading in her free time; she usually has three books going at one time. She loves being outdoors whether it is by a body of water in the summer or skiing in the winter. She also loves to explore restaurants and shops in the Old Port. She also can be found simply relaxing at home with her dog, Rufus.

This is Lindsay’s third year at Orchard Beach High School. She teaches Sophomore English, AP Language and Composition, and her English elective, Folklore and Fairytale. She is also the Drama Club co-advisor as well as the class advisor for the class of 2019. When in the classroom, Lindsay enjoys engaging students by making learning relevant and fun to their own lives and the world around them.

Lindsay earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in English and Education from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. After earning her undergraduate degree, Lindsay started her teaching career as an ed tech at The Collaborative School in New Gloucester. While working in New Gloucester, Lindsay earned her Master’s Degree in Professional Education at The University of Southern Maine. Before OOBHS, Lindsay worked for three years in teaching English at Sanford Middle School.
