Spanish Students Visit The University of Maine
This week, Spanish students went to Orono to observe Spanish classes at the University of Maine. They participated in 3 Spanish classes at different levels and the professors welcomed our students and included them in their lessons. In between classes, students took a tour of campus with a guide from the admissions office and had lunch at one of UMO’s student dining halls. Overall, students had a great trip and returned with a renewed energy to study Spanish and better idea of what to expect in college courses.
Advanced Art Student Recognized in Student Art Competition
Caitlin Perrigo submitted a watercolor painting into this year’s Scholastic Art and Writing Competition and received a Silver Key Award for the Maine Region at the high school level.
Her artwork was displayed at the Maine College of Art over the last few weeks, and she will be recognized at an awards ceremony this weekend. Congratulations, Caitlin!
Community Service
Students must complete 20 hours of community service as a graduation requirement. Parents of seniors please check with your child to find out if they still have hours to complete. Please contact the guidance office for community service opportunities. We have plenty for the kids to do!
