Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! As we march through the month of May, we are checking off boxes regarding things that need to be accomplished before graduation and the end of the school year. Fourth quarter progress report grades will be available for viewing today so please check with your child regarding their school work. Also please pay close attention to the “Upcoming Important Dates” section at the bottom of the memo so you can mark your calendars. Here are the communications for this week.
OOBHS Honored in US News and World Report Magazine!
U.S. News evaluated more than 20,500 public high schools around the country and identified Old Orchard Beach High School among the top 40% of schools nationally ranked!
Bradley Houle!
Congratulations to Bradley Houle, who has been named the Saco Bay Rotary Club OOBHS May 2019 Student of the Month!
Senior Classwork
OOBHS classes for all seniors are concluded unless there are extenuating circumstances such as a need for credit recovery work, AP/College credit classes or Band/Chorus graduation prep classes which require attendance throughout May. Seniors attending BRCOT will continue to attend their normal vocational classes until May 24.
Booster Club Needs Help!
The OOBHS Boosters are hosting their annual Field Day at OOBHS on Friday June 7. They are looking for donations of chips, cookies, Gatorade etc. and volunteers. Please contact oobhsboosters@gmail.com to help!
Old Orchard Beach High School Quarter 3 Honor Roll: Updated Q3 Honor Roll for OOBHS
Prom Saturday!
This year’s Prom, “Starry Night,” will be held tomorrow, May 11th, at Mariner’s Church in Portland from 7:00-11:00 PM. Light appetizers, desserts, and soda will be served throughout the evening. We hope to see you there! If you have questions, please email Ms. Moutsatsos at smoutsatsos@rsu23.org.
Spring Concert!

Please join us on Monday, May 20 at the high school for a combined evening of the arts.
Concert begins at 7 PM in the cafeteria
Adults $3/Students and senior citizens $2
BUT
Come early and start in our library where there will be art work from our art program, projects form our industrial technology program, and delectable treats from our culinary program. Then take a walk through the hallway where more great artwork is displayed, and our personal fitness areas are open for inspection. Then finish the night with a concert by our award winning musicians!
Senior Internships!
We are excited to announce that Senior Interns are off and running with their internship experiences. Parents/Guardians, please be sure to check your emails for more information. We appreciate your support in reminding students of requirements and deadlines.
May 23rd, 8:30-2:00 pm – Senior Internship Presentations will take place throughout the day in the high school gym. We would love to have you join us if you are able; your seniors will be able to tell you more about the specific times they will be speaking.
OOBHS Field Day Friday June 7th!
The Boosters are looking for donations of water and baked goods along with anyone (volunteers) who can help this day at OOBHS. Also, remind your children to see their class officers to sign up for the Relay, Tug of War, and Dunk tank activities.
Regional School Budget Meeting!
Please attend the Regional School Budget Meeting on Tuesday, May 14th at 6PM in the OOBHS Cafeteria. This is the meeting when taxpayers vote on individual articles in the school budget. Please come out and support the budget. Thank you!
Community Service
Students must complete 20 hours of community service as a graduation requirement. Parents of seniors please check with your child to find out if they still have hours to complete. Please contact the guidance office for community service opportunities. We have plenty for the kids to do!
