What I do

I am not as much an outdoors man as I used to be.  In the Army I attended both Mountain Climbing School in Vermont and Arctic Survival Training in Alaska.  In the Army I did a fair amount of climbing and rappelling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.    Once out of the Army I joined the Fire Service and EMS  in Alaska, worked on a Forest Fire as a flight and basecamp medic.  Here in Maine I spent 13 years with Waterboro Fire Dept. and continue serving with Sacopee Rescue as an Advanced EMT for a total of 22 years in civilian Fire and EMS.  I still own a canoe and a bicycle.

Greetings.  I started working at OOB HS the Fall of 2025.  I teach physical sciences to include Chemistry and Physics.  I also teach electives such as as 3D printing and Robotics in the spring.  I grew up in Guilford, Maine but I have lived in Maine both Northern and Southern for many years, Nebraska for a year, Alaska for 3 and a half years, and Washington State for two years.  I attended Piscataquis Community High School before starting at the University of Maine Orono.  I spent time enlisted both in the Army National Guard and the Active Duty Army as a medic.  I started as an Animal Science major and ended up graduating USM with a B.S. in Health Sciences in conjunction with an A.S. in Respiratory Therapy.  I graduated with a Master’s in Education 7-12 Science from USM in 2019.  I have taught 7th grade science in Corinth, ME as well as Chemistry, Bio, and Earth science for Westbrook H.S.  The last two years sent me through Elementary School both as Title 1 and as a 4th Grade teacher.  I have been a middle school soccer coach and am currently the Robotics team coach here at OOB H.S.
