Posted on

Old Orchard Beach High School’s Michael Brennan, PhD has been invited by Cynthia Williams, the Director of the Center for Sustainability and the Environment for the Colleges of the Fenway in Boston to be a guest lecturer this spring for students pursuing a minor in sustainability.  The class, which has a strong community-based learning component, is called the Environmental Forum, and the theme for Spring 2021 is “5-Mile Radius.” Students will be thinking about hyper-local environmental challenges and the links between sustainability and social justice at one, three, and five miles from the Fenway. Dr. Brennan was invited to speak because of his  scholarship on urban renewal and social justice. Students of Simmons University, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Wentworth Institute of Technology will participate in the virtual session.
