Winter Band and Chorus Concert

OOBHS Gymnasium Dedication
On Thursday December 20th the OOBHS Gymnasium will officially be renamed “John M. Regan Gymnasium” in honor of longtime teacher and basketball coach John Regan. The ceremony will be before the varsity game vs St. Doms and will begin at 6:40PM. Please Join us for this great occasion!
Class of 2019 Calendar Fundraiser
The class of 2019 has started selling tickets for their 2019 calendar raffle! Help support the class of 2019 and win some amazing prizes. Please reach out to a senior for more information and the purchase of tickets.
A Roman Holiday
It’s time to start planning ahead for April Vacation in 2020. Ms. Jaffe will be leading a trip to take a group of students to Italy, where they will explore Rome and the Sorrento Region! There will be an informational meeting for parents and students in room 207 of OOBHS (Ms. Jaffe’s room) on Thursday December 13 at 6:30pm, and all who are interested are welcome!

Program Launch: Enriching Students CLB Scheduler
In a continued effort to optimize the student learning environment at OOBHS we launched a new scheduling program that provides every student with an individualized customized learning block (CLB) schedule. This Enriching Students scheduler allows for the individualized scheduling of appointments ranging from academic support to club and activity meetings and also takes into consideration students who have earned CLB and Senior Privileges.

I would like to start by congratulating our students who participated in fall activities and athletics. The marching band still has their state competition at Westbrook High School tonight, and the football team has a playoff game at Camden Rockport Monday. Good luck to the marching band and football team! Last week Spirit Week was a rousing success and everyone had a wonderful time at the homecoming dance. Mr Sharp!
Congratulations to social studies teacher Mr. Deron Sharp. He was hired this week as the assistant principal at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham. We are already advertising for his position. We are unsure of when his last day here will be. Our plan is to use substitute teachers until we hire an interim teacher for the rest of the year. In the spring we will advertise the position as permanent and begin the hiring process for next year at that time. If you have any questions please contact me.

OOBHS Marching Band Home Show
Our parents and staff came through and pulled off a seamless show this past Saturday. They sold out the majority of the concession food and the stands were packed. There was a moving tribute to Eric MacDonald, with his parents in attendance, just before the OOBHS band performed. The band itself is making steady improvement week after week. We received our highest score to date this season, a 3.58 (rounded up to a 4, or silver ranking). Great job everyone!

Congratulations to Vernon Wells who has been named the OOBHS, Saco Bay Rotary Club October Student of the Month!
Homecoming Dance
The Homecoming Dance will be tomorrow at OOBHS from 7-10 PM. All OOBHS dance policies will be observed and each student will receive a breathalyzer test upon arrival administered by the OOB Police Department.
