What I do

I love to be outdoors and on the water, looking for new fishing spots or places to go for a swim. I also love to watch and play sports, basketball being a favorite. I do my best golfing, but has accepted that I am a life-long learner in that area. I love being back in Maine, and look forward to finding fun activities to do year round!

I began working at OOBHS in the fall of 2022, and teach a mixture of geometry and algebra 1 courses. I grew up in the Bangor area and attended John Bapst Memorial High School. I briefly went to the University of New England before transferring closer to my hometown, attending the University of Maine at Orono. I received a Master of Arts in Secondary Mathematics and Life Science, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.

Upon completion of my degree, I taught high school math at Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook Maine for three years. I served on academic committees and volunteered as assistant girls basketball coach at both middle school and varsity high school levels. Seeking a change of pace and to try something new, I moved to Jacksonville Florida and taught middle school math and science for six years. I assisted in ensuring the school was meeting all requirements for accreditation, helped implement a STEAM program for grades 4 – 8, and was an advisor for various clubs and activities.
