What I do

I love exploring the great state of Maine by kayaking, hiking, and biking every trail and waterway I can find! Winter is one of my favorite seasons because I can’t get enough cross country skiing and snowshoeing. At home, I enjoy gardening, hanging out on the patio, and doing puzzles (crossword, cryptoquip, and jigsaw).

I  joined Old Orchard Beach High School for the 2020-21 school year as the Chemistry, Physics, and Robotics teacher. My previous teaching experience includes Earth Science, Physical Science, Ecology, Engineering, and Robotics classes. I have also served as a Technology Instructional Leader, helping teachers to plan technology-rich lessons to enhance their curriculums.

I graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences Education degree in 2006. I taught in Mandan, North Dakota, for seven years before moving to Maine in 2014. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching Science degree from Minot State University in 2015.

In the community, I volunteer for the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust as an Alewife Fish Counter and a Water Quality Steward every spring and summer. I have also served as a hiking and snowshoeing leader for Windham Raymond Adult Education and the Appalachian Mountain Club.
